Live Sound Engineering
As of right now and hopefully carrying into the future, this is my main career focus. I have live sound experiences with multiple genres ranging from singer songwriter acoustic sets to 5 piece rock bands and hardcore metal bands. Thanks to my time at Blackbird, I've had hours of hands on experience with both analog and digital consoles ranging from small to large format. We had 2 weeks dedicated to analog, 2 to digital and 1 on signal processing, all with written and practical exams. Because of this, I feel comfortable behind many desks including varying MIDAS, Allen and Heath, and Digico consoles. As a freelance engineer for JAG Warner, I've been able to learn the ins and outs of the MIDAS M32 Ipad software.
Video Editing
I've done multiple projects in Adobe PremierePro ranging from different genres and styles. My music video, Powder, by Hope You Like Roses is my biggest accomplishment so far, as it was my first music video and biggest editing project to date. I'm honored to have won a Student Production Award for Best Music Video from the National Student Production of Television.
Producing and Directing
When I was in Nashville with the University of New Haven, I took a class taught by Steeve Fishell called Music Production. His class helped me fall in love with the production side of the studio, where I was able to produce and engineer a group project through out the semester. I took a class called Music Video Production where I was able to take my video projects to a larger scale. Directing for this class taught me about the importances of good preproduction and organization, as well as how to be in control on video shoot day.
Studio Recording and Mixing
I've done work with voice overs, sample editing, captioning and more. Although I've done full band studio tracking and recording, I've found audio/video sync and smaller scale recordings are more my speed. My months spent at Blackbird Studio allowed me to adapt to many different consoles, types of sessions, outboard gear, and studio environments. I also have experience recording meetings, interviews, and sampling in different environments. I am Dante Level 3 certified and can navigate ProTools and LogicPro.
Session set ups/tear downs
I have ample experience in set up and tear down of large and small bands. I've worked in both team and independent scenarios, allowing me to be both a leader and a listener. These set ups include full drum sets, guitars both DI and amps, multiple vocalists, and more. I've unloaded trucks, stacked cases, and learned the hard way to lift with my legs. I'm thankful for my time as an intern at Loud Studio, as I had experience setting up and tearing down sessions by myself in a timely manner. Now, at JAG Warner, I can easily do change overs for bands and resolve technical issues in time for the next set.
Photography/Videograpgy
This is a very new skill I've been trying to develop through taking pictures and editing them for an instagram account I've created called tvtimejunction. I've used a Cannon EOS Rebel T7 and Sony a7 II for videography projects in college but haven't unlocked the true hobby until recently. Now, as I learn, I've been taking most of my pictures on my iPhone 11 but do have access to a Cannon EOS 77D. I've been learning Lightroom and Photoshop to edit pictures and Adobe Premiere Pro for video color correction.
